WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (December 19, 2024) – Strategic America (SA), an employee-owned, integrated marketing and public relations firm based in West Des Moines, Iowa, has promoted Jamie Schug to Chief Operating & Financial Officer, effective Dec. 1, 2024.

In her new role, Jamie will lead both operating and financial initiatives for SA, ensuring the company’s operations are streamlined and profitable while safeguarding its financial health.

“This new role is a natural fit for Jamie,” said SA CEO and President John Schreurs. “She is a proven leader, and the expanded position combines her strengths of operational leadership, financial strategy and management, strategic planning, and performance optimization to deliver exceptional client outcomes and drive sustainable growth.”

Jamie brings 20 years of experience in all aspects of financial operations, with past roles in privately held, publicly traded and government organizations. Before this promotion, Jamie served as Chief Financial Officer at SA for four years. Prior to SA, she served as Chief Financial Officer for Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART) and as a budget manager and analyst for the City of West Des Moines. Throughout her career, she’s demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, policy and strategy development, and complex financial analysis. Past role responsibilities included providing oversight of department functions such as accounting, risk management, information technology, and purchasing.
